Refund & Cancellation Policy

Understand which fees are covered, how to request a refund and what happens when a booking changes.

1. Scope and fee ownership

This proposed policy covers qualification and examination fees paid to WTTA. Tuition, venues and other services purchased from an Approved Training Provider (ATP) are covered by that provider’s written terms. The ATP must explain its fees and refund arrangements before enrolment. WTTA will help clarify which organisation received the payment.

2. Proposed refund terms

  • Before registration is processed: a full refund of the WTTA fee paid.
  • After registration, before an examination is booked or attempted: refund the unused portion of the fee, less only reasonable, itemised costs already incurred and disclosed before payment. No automatic percentage deduction applies.
  • After an examination is attempted: the fee for the delivered assessment is normally not refundable. An assessment failure alone is not grounds for a refund.
  • WTTA cancellation: offer a replacement arrangement or a refund of the affected, undelivered service if a suitable alternative is declined.
  • Illness, emergencies or technical disruption: consider deferral, transfer or refund individually using relevant evidence.

3. How to request a refund

Email WTTA with your full name, registered email, qualification, ATP name (if applicable), invoice or receipt reference, cancellation date and reason. Do not send card details or passwords. An ATP requesting a refund on behalf of a learner must identify the learner and payment concerned.

4. Review and payment

Proposed service targets: acknowledge within 3 working days and provide a written decision within 10 working days of receiving the required information. Explain any deduction and the calculation. Process an approved refund within 14 working days of approval to the original payer through the original payment method where possible; banking processing times may differ. Where the ATP paid WTTA, any learner tuition refund is handled separately by the ATP.

5. Disputed decisions

Ask for a review through the Complaints Handling Policy if you disagree with the decision or calculation. These proposed terms are subject to applicable mandatory consumer rights; no term is intended to remove those rights.
